ครูปูมีร้านข้าวเช้าเจ้าประจำอยู่ร้านนึง เจ้าของร้านเป็นคนเหนืออัธยาศัยดีมาก ยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใสทักทายพูดเล่นชวนลูกค้าหัวเราะหัวฮาได้ทุกคน แถมให้ลูกค้าตักเองได้ตามใจชอบด้วยนะ ราคาก็แสนถูก มากันกี่คนก็ตาม ต่อให้สั่้งกับข้าวเต็มโต๊ะ เฉลี่ยแล้วก็ไม่เคยเกินคนละ 20 บาทเสียที ยิ่งครูปูเลือกกินแต่กับที่เป็นผักข้าวก็ไม่ค่อยกิน “ป้าบัว” ก็ยิ่งคิดราคาถูกเข้าไปใหญ่ ข้าวครึ่งก้อน+ผัดผักอย่างละนิด 2 อย่าง คิดครูปู 5 บาท

นึกถึงสมัยเรียนประถมที่ ตจว.ขึ้นมาเลยอ่ะค่ะ ให้มากกว่านี้ก็ไม่เอา บอกกินนิดเดียวเอง แกคิดตังค์ไม่ลง ครูปูจึงมักหาน้ำพริกรสเด็ดหรืออาหารเหนือไปฝากเพื่อเป็นการขอบคุณอยู่บ่อย ๆ
ตอนเช้า ๆ ร้านป้าบัวเลยเป็นแหล่งรวมเด็กนักเรียนในตอนเช้า ภาพเด็กกำลังงัวเงียขณะถูกพ่อแม่บังคับให้กินข้าวมีให้เห็นทุกวัน
มีอยู่ครอบครัวหนึ่ง แม่ลูกสี่คน คนโตอยู่ ม.3 ตัวโตเป็นสาวแล้ว คนกลางน่าจะอยู่ ม.2 หรือไม่ก็ ม.1 เพราะตัวโตไล่ ๆ กัน เจ้าน้องชายคนสุดท้องตัวกะเปี๊ยกเดียว น่าจะอยู่อนุบาลหรือไม่ก็ ป.1-2 ทุกครั้งที่เจอจะเห็นยายแม่อ้วนดำคนนี้สูบบุหรี่ปุ๋ย ๆ ไม่ได้หยุดปาก เสียงดังโวยวายตลอดเวลา ทุกคำพูดล้วนด่าทอลูกชายลูกสาวหยาบ ๆ คาย ๆ ทำนองประชดพ่อของลูกที่แอบไปมีเมียน้อย?

ที่ประหลาดก็คือ พ่อเด็กเองก็นั่งฟังอยู่ตลอดเวลาขณะนั่งจิบกาแฟอยู่ร้านตรงข้ามเพื่อรอส่งลูก ๆ ไปโรงเรียน?
ด้วยความที่เป็นครูจึงรู้สึกหงุดหงิดทุกครั้งที่เจอ ทำไมต้องโวยวายด่าลูกแต่เช้า แล้วเรื่องเมียน้อยเมียหลวงอะไรนั่น เด็กเขาเข้าไปรู้เรื่อง ไปเกี่ยวด้วยตรงไหนกัน เค้ากำลังจะไปเรียนหนังสือแทนที่ทำสมองให้โล่ง ๆ กลับต้องมาเริ่มวันด้วยการขมวดคิ้วเสียแล้ว ไหนจะอับอายผู้คนอีก ลูกสาวสองคนนั่นก็โตเป็นสาวกันแล้ว ไอ้ตัวกระเปี๊ยกก็ไม่ใช่อายไม่เป็นเสียหน่อย
ทุกครอบครัวก็ล้วนมีปัญหามีความคับข้องใจไม่เรื่องใดก็เรื่องหนึ่งกันทั้งนั้น แต่ละคนก็ควรรับผิดชอบในส่วนของตัวเองกันไป ถ้ายังแก้ไม่ได้ก็เอาแค่หาแนวทางอยู่กับมันให้ได้ก็ยังดี ยิ่งคนเป็นแม่ด้วยแล้ว ควรแล้วหรือจะแบ่งปันแล้วส่งต่อปัญหานั้นให้กับลูกตัวเอง?
ถ้าคนเป็นแม่ยังรักตัวเองไม่เป็นจะไปทำให้เด็กตัวเท่านั้นเข้าใจได้อย่างไรว่า ไอ้ที่ตีที่ด่าอยู่นั่นมันคือความรักความหวังดี แล้วเด็กที่โตมาแบบเว้า ๆ แหว่ง ๆ เพราะ “ขาดรัก” แบบนี้แหละที่เป็นภาระก้อนโตของครูเรา
ในส่วนที่เกินเอื้อมไปแล้ว ก็ช่วยไม่ได้ที่สังคมต้องแบกรับอาการข้างเคียงของพวกเขาต่อไป แบบที่บ่น ๆ ว่าเด็กตีกัน เด็กเที่ยวเตร่ เด็กติดเกมส์ ติดยา ฯลฯ ก็สักแต่จะบ่นจะว่ากันไป ไม่เห็นแก้อะไรได้
อาจเพราะตอนที่ยังพอทำได้ ดันไม่ได้ทำแบบนี้หรือเปล่า ไม่รู้นะคะ
พวกลูก ๆ ก็นั่งก้มหน้าก้มตากินข้าวกันไป ยายแม่ก็แพล่มไปพ่นควันบุหรี่ใส่วงข้าวลูกไป เจริญจริง ๆ 
แสดงแต่ตัวอย่างหยาบ ๆ คาย ๆ ให้ลูกเห็น ต่อไปถ้าได้สำเนาถูกต้องขึ้นมาก็ไม่ต้องสงสัยอะไรเลย
คนทั้งร้านก็ไม่มีใครเห็นดีด้วยหรอกนะ พอแม่คนนี้เข้าร้านมา ทุกคนก็เงียบเฉยกันกระทันหันทุกที
เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว ขณะครูปูกับเพื่อนครูกำลังจะถึงร้าน เห็นแม่คนนี้กำลังกร่นด่าลูกชายคนเล็กแล้วเร่งให้รีบข้ามถนน แต่ด้วยความงัวเงียเด็กเลยเดินช้าไม่ทันใจ แม่เด็กดันหลังจนเด็กหัวทิ่มกลางถนน นึกว่าจะเข้าไปช่วยลูก ดันตามเข้าไปทุบผลั่วะซ้ำอีก พร้อมทั้งกร่นด่าเรื่องชะตาชีวิตตัวเองที่ต้องโชคร้ายมามีลูำกมีสามีแบบนี้
เอาเข้าไป!
วินมอเตอร์ไซค์แถวนั้นที่จอดอยู่เป็นสิบคัน มองนิ่ง ๆ เป็นตาเดียว คนในร้านข้าวอีกเพียบ
แต่ ไม่มีใครทำอะไร?
“เฮ๊ยยย นี่มันแย่มากเลยนะ คุยกับยายแม่นี่ดูซักทีดีมั้ย ลูกนะไม่ใช่ทรัพย์สินเหมือนวัวเหมือนควาย จะได้เฆี่ยนตีด่าทอให้เป็นมลพิษแบบนี้ได้ตามสบายน่ะ”
น้อง ๆ ทัก “อย่าเพิ่งเลยพี่ปู แถวนี้เขาสนิทกัน อย่างน้อยให้ป้าบัวแกพูดดีกว่า อย่าไปข้องเกี่ยวด้วยเลยคนแบบนี้น่ะ”
อารมณ์เสีย กลับดีกว่าไม่กงไม่กินมันแล้ว
สัปดาห์ต่อมาเจอครอบครัวนี้ในร้านอาหารอีก เห็นลูก ๆ นั่งรวมกันอยู่ที่โต๊ะนึง ใจนึกอยากจะแค่ชวนเด็ก ๆ คุย อยากให้เช้าขึ้นมาเขาได้มีรอยยิ้มได้มีใครพูดจาดี ๆ ด้วยบ้าง เลยเข้าไปแกล้งชวนลูกสาวคนโตคุยเรื่องกิจกรรมที่โรงเรียน เด็กก็ยิ้มตอบพร้อมทั้งสอบถามกิจกรรมของ VBAC จึงถือโอกาสชวนเด็กมาเยี่ยมชมในช่วงวันเสาร์อาทิตย์เสียเลยเพราะบ้านเด็กอยู่ข้างโรงเรียนนี่เอง
ตอนครูปูหันไปจ่ายเงินค่าข้าว แม่เด็กพุ่งตรงมาจากทางไหนไม่รู้ กระซิบกระซาบถามลูกทันที
“คุยอะไรกัน ๆ”
เด็กก็เล่าไปตามนั้น
ครูปูซึ่งได้ยินแว่ว ๆ จากด้านหลัง ก็อุตส่าห์ดีใจ นี่ถือเป็นช่องที่จะได้คุยกับยายแม่คนนี้เสียที เอาวะ ใจดีสู้เสือ หันกลับไปกะจะชวนคุยทั้งแม่ทั้งลูกเีสียเลย ตั้งใจจะคุยด้วยดี ๆ ยิ้มเสียหวานจ๋อย เรามันอายเป็นที่ไหนล่ะ ทำได้ทุกอย่างอยู่แล้วนี่ หุหุหุ 
พอครูปูร่วมวงปุ๊บยายแม่อ้วนดำนั่น หันหลังเดินหนีควั่บออกไปซะงั้น
เห็นอยางนั้นก็เลยบอกลาเด็ก ๆ “อาจารย์ไปก่อนนะลูก ว่าง ๆ เข้ามาเที่ยวในโรงเรียนได้นะจ๊ะ”
เด็กรู้ว่าเป็นครูจึงพยักหน้ายิ้ม ๆ พร้อมไหว้แบบเขิน ๆ กำลังเดินออกมาจากร้าน เสียงยายแม่นั่นตะโกนตามหลังมา
“ไม่ให้เรียนหรอก แพง ไม่มีปัญญา”
ครูปูสะดุ้งเฮือก
“ถึงมีปัญญาก็ไม่ให้เรียนหรอก จะให้ต่อ ม.4 นู่น”
สูดหายใจลึก ๆ เฮ้อ… วิศวรไปเห๊อะ
“ยังไงก็ไม่ให้เรียนหรอก ไอ้โรงเรียนนี้น่ะ”
อ้าว! แล้วมันเป็นยังไงล่ะ ไอ้โรงเรียนนี้น่ะ รู้จักเขาดีแล้วเหรอ คิดอยากจะหันหลังกลับไปหาคำตอบเสียจริง ๆ
อย่าเลย ยายเคยบอกว่า อย่าเอาไม่สั้นไปรัน..ี้ ก็จริงนะ ก็มันเหม็นนี่นา กัดฟันกร่อด ๆ เดินกลับโรงเรียน แล้วมาเล่าให้น้อง ๆ ที่โรงเรียนฟัง ถกกันว่าประเด็นที่ทำร้ายและขัดขวางการเติบโตหรือพัฒนาการของเด็กแบบนี้นี่ ต่อให้เป็นแม่ก็ขัดต่อ พรบ.คุ้มครองเด็ก อยู่ดี เหมือนเราเห็นผัวเมียตีกันน่ะถึงจะเป็นผัวเมียนั่นก็เข้าข่ายทำร้ายร่างกายนะ ถ้าสังคมเพิกเฉยคนพวกนี้ก็จะยิ่งได้ใจ ถ้าเราปล่อยให้ตัวเองคุ้นชินกับการมีคนที่ทำแบบนี้อยู่ในสังคม ต่อไปพวกเราจะอยู่กันยังไง ในสังคมแบบไหนกัน?
อย่ากระนั้นเลยให้น้องที่ รษก.กตตร.สน.บางเขน โทรไปปรึกษาที่ สน.ดู จะได้มั่นใจว่าเหตุการณ์ไหนเข้าข่ายพอจะแจ้งได้บ้าง ได้คำตอบมาหน่อยนึงแล้ว ว่าแล้วกลุ่มครูตัวดีก็กระหยิ่มยิ้มย่องตั้งอกตั้งใจจะออกจากบ้านให้เช้าขึ้นอีก กะจะไปนั่งรอยายแม่นั่นแต่เช้าเลย (เรื่องหาเรื่องล่ะชอบนัก ขอให้บอกเุถอะ )
ไอ้เห็นเรื่องแล้วรีบแจ้งนี่คงไม่ยากหรอก
แต่ไอ้เรื่องกลัวจะอดใจไม่อยู่เข้าไปจัดการเองนี่สิ

นั่งกินข้าวกันไปขำก๊ากเรื่องนู้นเรื่องนี้กันไป คุยกันในวงว่า “พวกเรานี่นะ งานในโรงเรียนก็ยุ่งจะตายชักยังจะดิ้นรนหานู่นนี่ทำกันอีก ครูโรงเรียนเรานี่มันหาเรื่องกันเป็นอาชีพจริง ๆ นะพวกเราว่ามั้ย 555…”
