ผมทึ่งเรื่องแรกตอนที่เข้าไปที่สำนักงานปฏิรูปที่ดินเพื่อเกษตรกรรม เมื่อเข้าไปในที่ทำงานเหมือนเข้าไปในบ้าน แล้วมีรูปจอมพลสฤษดิ์ ธนะรัชต์ ซึ่งทราบว่าเป็นบ้านของท่านเดิม แต่ที่ทึ่งคือความยิ้มแย้มของคน ส.ป.ก. ผมไปนั่งจ๋องอยู่ในห้อง ใครเข้ามาก็ทักทายยิ้มแย้มผิดกับราชการบางหน่วย เอ็งเป็นใคร ฉันไม่รู้จัก ฉันไม่ทักด้วย…เจอหมอรุ่งเป็นคนแรกก็เลยได้กอดกันก่อนใครเพื่อน ผมกับหมอรุ่งเพิ่งได้พบเจอตัวจริงกันวันนี้แหละครับ
คณะที่จะเดินทางไปกับรถตู้ของ ส.ป.ก.ค่อยๆทยอยมาทีละคน จนถึงเวลาออกเดินทาง เราคุยกันไปตลอดทางจนถึงอุทัยธานีก็แวะรับน้องปุ๊กซึ่งคุณพ่อขับรถมาส่งจากชัยนาทร่วมเดินทางไปกับเราด้วย จากนั้นเดินทางอ่างเก็บน้ำทับเสลา เข้าไปถึงก็เจอเฮฮาศาสตร์กลุ่มใหญ่เดินอยู่ คนเดินก็ไม่รู้หรอกว่าในรถมีใคร พวกเรานึกว่าเขาทานข้าวแล้วกลับที่พัก แต่จริงๆแล้วเขาเดินจากที่พักมาทานข้าว ฮา…
เรามาถึงห้องแปดเหลี่ยมซึ่งเป็นที่ทานอาหาร ลงจากรถก็จัดแจงข้าวคนละห่อเพราะความหิว ระหว่างที่ทานจึงทราบว่าพวกที่เดินอยู่กำลังมาทานข้าวเหมือนกัน พอมาถึงมหกรรมการกอดก็เกิดขึ้น เสียงเฮฮาเจี๊ยวจ๊าวดีใจที่ได้เจอหน้ากันอีก ระหว่างนั้นก็ทราบว่าสายเหนือก็ใกล้ถึงแล้ว พอรถตู้พวกเราสายเหนือมาจอด มหกรรมการกอดก็เป็นรอบสอง น้องๆที่ไม่เคยรู้จักพวกเราก็งงกันเป็นแถบๆที่เห็นทั้งหญิงทั้งชายกอดกันกระดูกกระเดี้ยวแถบหลุดเป็นชิ้นๆ
หลังทานอาหารเสร็จพวกเราลงทะเบียนรับเอกสาร พี่บู้ตก็แนะนำวัตถุประสงค์โครงการ กิจกรรมที่จะทำในแต่ละวัน ซึ่งมีรายละเอียดอยู่ในเอกสารที่แจกด้วย และนัดหมายกันเพื่อทำกิจกรรมในวันรุ่งขึ้น จากนั้นก็แยกย้ายกันไปนอน ผมนอนกับอาจารย์ปอ จิตตศักดิ์ พุฒจร ซึ่งรู้จักกันมาหลายปีเพราะเป็น Idol ของลูกสาวผม และเป็นคนที่ผมอนุญาตให้ลูกสาวเข้าป่าบาลาฮาราพร้อมกับท่านและเพื่อนซึ่งเป็นผู้ชายทั้งหมด อาจารย์ปอเป็นเพื่อนนักเรียนอนุบาลของน้องเบิร์ด และเคยร่วมงานกับแฟนพี่บู้ต กลายเป็นคนกันเองทั้งหมดเลย การนอนห้องเดียวกันคนที่ยุ่งยากไม่ใช่ผมแต่เป็นอาจารย์ปอที่ต้องทนฟังผมกรน ฮา…ผมว่าถ้าผมไปนอนที่ห้วยขาแข็งไม่ต้องกลัวสัตว์ต่างๆจะมาทำร้ายแต่มันจะหนีเพราะเสียงกรนผมนี่แหละ ฮา…
