แต่เอเรื่องตัดหญ้านี่ เป็นเรื่องที่จะต้องตัดบ่อยมากโดยเฉพาะหน้าฝน ซึ่งเมื่อก่อนก็ใช้บิการ คนรับตัดหญ้า ซึ่งก็ใช่ว่าจะหาได้ง่ายๆ ส่วนค่าบริการเริ่มตั้งแต่ 500 -1,700 บาท ขึ้นอยูกับว่าจะให้ตัดต้นไม้ หรือตัดแต่งรั้วหรือไม่ ครั้งล่าสุดเมื่อเดือนตุลามคมปีที่ผ่านมา จ่ายค่าตัดหญ้าตัดต้นไม้ 1,700 บาท ทำให้หยุดใช้บริการตั้งแต่นั้นมา ความจริงที่บ้านมีเครื่องตัดหญ้าเก่าอยู่ แต่ใช้น้ำมันเบนซิน ส่วนรุ่นก่อนหน้านั้นเป็นเครื่องตัดหญ้าของลักซ์ ซึ่งใช้ไฟฟ้า แต่ใช้งานไม่ได้แล้ว หาที่ซ่อมไม่ได้ โดนคนที่บ้านขายเป็นเศษเหล็กในราคา 50 บาท ทั้งๆ ที่ซื้อมาด้วยราคา เกือบสองหมื่นบาท ตอนนั้นซื้อให้คนดูแลสวนที่บ้านใช้ ซึ่งสมัยนั้นยังอยู่บ้านพักในมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี เป็นบ้านที่มีบริเวณกว้างมาก ใช้เครื่องตัดหญ้าไฟฟ้าเครื่องนี้ก็เหมาะ เพราะมีสายไฟยาวสามสิบเมตร พร้อมปลั๊กและขาตั้งสายม้วนเก็บไฟได้เรียบร้อย ใช้ได้ไม่นานนัก ตัดได้หญ้าไม่ทั่วเสียแล้ว เนื่องจากขยายพื้นที่สวนทั้งหน้าบ้านหลังบ้าน ต่อมาก็ไปซื้อเครื่องตัดหญ้าของอเมริกาชนิดใช้งานหนัก แต่เป็นเครื่องเบนซิน
ปัจจุบันไม่ได้ใช้แล้วเพราะป่วยต้องเข้าโรงซ่อมหากจะใช้จริงๆ จึงมีความคิดว่าควรหาซื้อเครื่องตัดหญ้า รุ่นที่น้ำหนักเบาชนิดใช้แบตเตอร์รี่ จะได้สะดวกในการจะตัดที่ไหนก็ได้ไม่ต้องห่วงเรื่องสายไฟ ในที่สุดก็ไปหาซื้อที่ห้าง ได้เครื่องตัดหญ้าสีเขียวสวยงาม พนักงานทดลองให้ดู ก็คิดว่าตัดหญ้าได้ดี ใช่เลยนี่แหละเหมาะสำหรับตัดหญ้าบริเวณสวนที่บ้าน ก่อนใช้ต้องชาร์จแบตเตอร์รี่เป็นครั้งแรกสี่ชั่วโมง จากนั้นนำมาใส่เครื่องตัดหญ้าตัวใหม่ ทดลองตัดหญ้าทันที และแล้วความจริงก็เริ่มปรากฏค่ะ ตอนตัดใหม่ๆ เครื่องทำงานได้ดี พอตัดไปได้สักพักไม่เกินสิบนาที่ แบตฯ หมดต่ะ ต้องถอดแบตเตอร์รี่ มาชาร์จตามสเปค ใช้เวลาหนึ่งชั่วโมง แต่ครบหนึ่งชั่วโมง ไฟก็ยังไม่เต็ม คือไฟชาร์จสีแดงตลอด ตัดสินใจชาร์จทั้งคืน เช้ามาไฟชาร์จก็ไม่เขียว นำแบตฯ มาใส่เครื่องตัดหญ้าแล้วตัดหญ้าใหม่อีกครั้ง ผลปรากฏว่าเหมือนเดิมแบตหมดในเวลาไม่นาน ตัดสินใจไปห้างที่ซื้อเครื่องตัดหญ้าเครื่องนี้ แล้วถามว่าทำไมไฟชาร์จไม่เต็มสักที่ เขาตอบว่ารุ่นนี้เป็นอย่างนี้ ให้ชาร์จแค่ชั่วโมงเดียวก็ใช้งานได้ แต่ทำไมใช้แค่ไม่ถึงสิบนาทีแบตฯ หมด พนักงานขายบอกว่ารุ่นนี้เป็นรุ่นเล็มหญ้า แป่ววววๆๆๆๆๆๆ
พนักงานขายคนเดิมแนะนำรุ่นใช้ไฟฟ้า จะได้ไม่มีปัญหาเรื่องแบตฯ หมด ซื้อทันที่ค่ะ เครื่องตัดหญ้าสีเหลืองมีสายไฟฟ้ายาวสิบห้าเมตร แต่ที่บ้านมีสายไฟฟ้าชนิดม้วน ทีมีขาตั้งและมีที่สวิตควมคุมไฟ และปลั๊กเสียบสายไฟฟ้าพร้อมใช้ เป็นของเครื่องลักซ์ที่ใช้การได้ดี ยาวสามสิบเมตร ได้การละซิกลับบ้านมาด้วยความสุขใจ เริ่มตัดหญ้าได้ทั่วบริเวณบ้าน ไม่มีปัญหา แต่สายไฟซิค่ะยาวเกะกะ แต่ที่สำคัญคือเปลืองไฟมาก เลยต้องใช้กรรไกตัดหญ้าช่วย ซึ่งก็ใช้งานได้ตามปกติ แต่ปวดหลังซิค่ะ เลยเกิดความคิดใหม่ถ้าซื้อกรรไกตัดหญ้าชนิดเดินไถไปตัดไปน่าจะดีที่สุด จะได้ไม่ปวดหลัง บังเอิญก็มีกรรไกในฝัน ตัดสินใจซื้อทันที่ อ่าฮ้าคราวนี้อุปกรณ์พร้อมแล้วกลับบ้าน มาต้ดหญ้า ตัดได้สักพักก็ปวดมือเพราะต้องใช้แรงมือข้างเดียว บีบที่ด้ามจับที่มีสปริงต่อไปถึงกรรไกให้ตัดหญ้าที่มีล้อด้านล่าง ไถไปตัดไปซึ่งด้ามยาวเมตรกว่าๆ จากกรรไกด้านล่าง ต้องออกแรงบีบจากมือมากๆๆๆๆๆๆ
เราจะยอมแพ้ได้อย่างไร ต้องหาทางหาซื้อเครื่องตัดหญ้าที่ใช้ระบบกลไกธรรมดาดีกว่า ใช้แรงคนแบบเดินไปไถหญ้ไปน่จะาดีที่สุด เพราะประหยัดพลังงาน แถมได้ออกกำลังกายด้วย ในที่สุดเครื่องตัดหญ้าในฝัน ก็มาอยู่ที่บ้านได้อย่างง่ายดายแค่ไปแลกสตางค์
