การฝึกกล้ามเนื้อทำได้หลายวิธี มีทั้งที่ใช้น้ำหนักของตัวเองเช่นยึดพื้น เล่นกล้ามท้อง ใช้น้ำหนักโดยตรง เช่นบาร์เบล (Barbell) หรือดัมเบล (Dumbbell) ใช้อุปกรณ์อื่นๆ ทั้งอย่างง่ายๆ หรือที่มีในศูนย์ฟิตเนสต่างๆ ที่ต้องมีผู้ฝึกสอนคอยแนะนำ
