วันนี้ขอพูดเรื่องปิรามิดขยะ
อธิบายง่ายๆ พื้นฐานการจัดการขยะ คือการกำจัดขยะอย่างถูกวิธี ถูกหลักวิชาการและไม่ก่อให้เกิดปัญหาด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ( การกำจัดขยะแบบถูกหลักสุขาภิบาล ) เป็นสิ่งที่ทุกองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นต้องทำให้ได้ ภายใต้นโยบาย แผนแม่บทการจัดการขยะมูลฝอย การชี้แนะและการกำกับดูแลของรัฐบาลกลาง
เมื่อทำได้แล้วก็เริ่มพัฒนามาสู่ขั้นตอนที่สูงขึ้น มีการนำขยะมาใช้เป็นพลังงาน มีการลดปริมาณขยะด้วยการนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ อาจมีการแปรรูปก่อนนำมาใช้ก็ได้ เช่นการนำเศษกระดาษมาผลิตเป็นกระดาษใหม่ หรือการนำพลาสติกมาทำเป็นของใช้อย่างอื่นที่มีคุณภาพลดลงบ้าง หรือการทำปุ๋ยหมักแล้วนำมาใช้ในการเกษตรเป็นต้น
สุดยอดหรือที่อยู่บนสุดของปิรามิดก็คือการลดการก่อขยะ เช่นการลดหรือปรับปรุงบรรจุภัณฑ์ การหิ้วตะกร้าหรือถุงผ้าไปจ่ายตลาดหรือซื้อของ การหิ้วปิ่นโตไปซื้อกับข้าว ( คนละความหมายกับหิ้วปิ่นโตที่เราๆเข้าใจกันนะครับ )
ทั้งนี่หมายความว่า ถึงจะมีหลุมฝังกลบขยะแบบถูกหลักสุขาภิบาลแล้ว ก็ยังต้องคิดพัฒนาต่อให้มีการนำมาใช้เป็นพลังงาน พยายามลดปริมาณขยะลงด้วยการคัดแยกแล้วนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ และพยายามลดการก่อขยะด้วย คือต้องทำควบคู่กันไป
ในประเทศไทย ยังคงเวียนว่ายตายเกิดอยู่แต่ในระดับพื้นฐาน คือแค่การกำจัดขยะให้ถูกวิธี ส่วนใหญ่ยังทำไม่ได้เลย แล้วจะทำที่มันยากขึ้นหรือขั้นสูงขึ้นได้อย่างไร น่าเป็นห่วงครับ
